Runaway Productions Retains a Few Special Interns

Runaway Productions, producer Linda Palmer, has brought on board two special interns as assistants to the director and producers of projects moving into production this year. Karina Farah will move into an assistant to producer Florence Regina and director Linda Palmer on LAST CALL AT MURRAY'S and Mary Lansing will become an assistant to co-producers, Regina and Palmer on DIABETES AND ME.

"Both ladies have exhibited a real enthusiasm and commitment to our previous marketing project for our recently distributed motion picture, THE WEDDING VIDEO. Both served as Viral Marketing Managers for the "out-of-the-box" marketing project involving direct sales via the wedding industry. Both women were instrumental in increasing the fan base of the film from 600 to over 13,000 in just three months." states producer, Palmer.

To compensate the interns, both received marketing credits on IMDB for THE WEDDING VIDEO and now move into the next phase of their relationship with the producer / director, Linda Palmer. Karina wants to expand her knowledge of casting and learn the roles of a director / producer, so she is working closely with casting director, Debra McCarthy, director, Linda Palmer and producer, Florence Regina on MURRAY'S in the pre-production stages of the film.

Mary, also sharing a commonality with producer Regina, having type 1 diabetes, is becoming instrumental in the marketing and post production efforts of bringing that film to fruition and hopefully, a Sundance premiere. Mary is also in charge of our fan site for LAST CALL AT MURRAY'S on Myspace, and is hosting a series of interviews with all the key personnel of that project.

"These ladies have displayed a commitment to me and my projects that will be rewarded with employment and eventual producer credits in later pictures", promised Palmer. "They are not only amazingly energetic, but highly efficient and have become friends that I want to see succeed at their dreams."

Sticky Spaghetti Joins DIABETES & ME

Florence Regina and Linda Palmer, co-producers / directors / writers of DIABETES & ME: ALONE IN THE CROWD, have brought on board animation supervisor, Dan Gutman and his STICKY SPAGHETTI STUDIOS banner. Gutman will help create, supervise and produce the animated sequences required for the feature length documentary.

Gutman, also a type 1 diabetic, brings with him incredible experience and emotion to the project. "Dan was referred to us by our friend, Roya Aryanpad, and shortly after he and Florence started talking, they found their common ground; diabetes and the need for awareness." states Palmer. "Dan is exactly the type of person we want to work with to finish this story. His talent, demeanor and skills are a tremendous asset."

Gutman is currently producing an animatic that will be premiered at an exclusive fund-raising event in late May hosted by Mark Cardone and Linda Palmer. "With Florence's original teaser and the new animated material, we will be raising the funds needed to complete the animation for the film." promises Palmer.

RAIN ON THE WATER Optioned by Linda Palmer

Producer Linda Palmer recently optioned, writer Linda Fausnet's feature screenplay, RAIN ON THE WATER. Fausnet will also take on a co-producer role in the project with Palmer. The family film is a coming of age story of two girls who discover a mysterious cave that grants their wishes, but they soon become concerned when they receive strange messages on the cave wall asking for help.

"The project is different then most I choose, but I was drawn to it having a daughter and niece the same age. It's a great coming of age story of friendship and exploration and the link to native American culture was very intriguing to me, " states Palmer.

Palmer frequently partners with writers who want to help make their vision a reality. "I can't do everything as a freelance producer so I need to rely on my creative partners to help bring all the elements together. If I feel a connection to a writer and know they have the ability to help bring a project to fruition, I'm much more drawn to work with them. I believe in people who believe in themselves. It's a constant circle of inspiration. Linda definitely fits that criteria." quotes Palmer.

"THE WEDDING VIDEO" Finds Alternative Distribution With Serendipity Pictures

Filmmakers Linda Palmer and Todd Wade have chosen to market their most recent feature, THE WEDDING VIDEO, completely alternatively and in doing so, have placed the film with newly formed, Serendipity Pictures.

The distribution company is really a hybrid distribution / ad agency firm that looks for projects that fit into other unique retail environments. This film launches their initial walk down the matrimonial aisle of the wedding industry. They are currently signing on major wedding retailers to cross market their product with the film. The key is the retailer commercial will appear before the film starts and the DVD jacket will bare their name as the "presenter" of the film. The movies may be sold as bridal gifts or given away as promos at bridal expos or with purchases.

They are also working with wedding videographers to offer a very unique opportunity to customize the movie for their client, adding their "wedding video footage" to the beginning of the film and adding their clients names in the credits as a very unique wedding gift. "This is a phenomenal way for anyone to be in a real Hollywood movie," states producer Linda Palmer.

Along with those opportunities, Serendipity has engaged in future plans to run contests offering a "role in the sequel" in conjunction with Runaway Productions. Palmer has partnered with writer / co-star, Chris Pentzell, of the original "Wedding Video", to produce the sequel . His character is the lead role and the story is loosely based around reality tv, wedding videography and an elopement.
