Jan 06 - Los Angeles, CA. Familiar director of photography, Tarina Reed, is set to lens THE WEDDING VIDEO by producer/director team of Palmer/Wade. Reed worked with the pair initially gaffing on LOOK @ ME and since has shot the companies LA CREPERIE CAFE commercial and is currently photographing Palmer's "Untitled Flute Documentary" about Karen Smith's meteoric success with her groups cd, FLUTE TOOTIN' YULE.

Tarina has great sensibilities and offers a lot of creative input to the documentary style of both THE WEDDING VIDEO and the FLUTE PROJECT, says Palmer. That seems to be her specialty but frankly I'd work with her on any style project.

Reed most recently finished...

There are some smaller roles we're waiting to cast potential name actors to for our big wedding week but the cast is already very strong, states Palmer. Palmer Cooking Up TURN OVER

Echelon Ent Has OCTOBER 30TH Set for April Start Date

Feb 06 - Glendale, CA. After completion of their funding package for a slate of ten films, Echelon Entertainment announced the start date for their first picture, OCTOBER 30TH as soon as April of this year.

Producer/Director team, Palmer/Wade are set to helm the movie. This picture marks the third script produced by Palmer/Runaway Productions in the past year.

It tells the story of three guys on the way back to NYC that hear the infamous Orson Welles radio address of War of the Worlds. Their radio cuts out and they never know it's a fake and as a result, loot a store, pick up another frightened soul and head to a friends hunting cabin. Unfortunately a deadly wreck leaves the three hurt and without supplies. Their fear and paranoia turn them against one another and only near the end do they discover they were being stalked by something far worse than their imaginations.

OCTOBER 30TH writer, Patrick Hludzenski made initial contact with Echelon, then turned over negotiations to Palmer. We're all very excited about how this project has evolved in the past few months, says Palmer. There has been some great collaboration and revelations about the time period that make the picture more authentic and even scarier if that's possible. Gloria Morrison, VP of Acquisitions and Development with Echelon is hoping for a Halloween release of what they all hope becomes a classic fright night hit.

Runaway Shoots Mobile Electronics Virtual CES 2006

Jan 06 - Las Vegas, NV. Mobile Electronics Magazine hires Producer/Director team, Palmer/Wade to shoot their VIRTUAL CES debuting 2006. The concept includes video segments from 1-3 minutes in length, shot at the CES show, introducing the company's hot new products. Several clients include, MAXXSONICS, MBQUART, HIFONICS, CRUNCH, SCOSHE, AUDIOVOX and KICKER just to name a few. Additional companies added the marketing service including iMOBILE.

The spots allow 12 volt retailers to log on Mobile Electronics site and veiw the new product through the entire year. It's a great training tool as well as sales tool for this industry, states Palmer, also a 16 year veteran of the electronics industry.

Runaway Productions has become a valuable partner to Mobile Electronics. Both companies plan to work together in bringing this concept to other industries Bobit Publishing handles.

THE WEDDING VIDEO Filming in Long Beach

Feb 06 - Long Beach, CA. THE WEDDING VIDEO, a new comedy from Runaway Productions began filming February 1st in Long Beach, California. The films producer/location scout, Linda Palmer, has arranged most of the pictures locations in the Long Beach/Belmont Shore area. We're getting a lot of support from local businesses that love the film concept and are personal friends. It certainly helps with costs, states Palmer. We have over 30 locations ranging from retail shops to bowling alleys, not to mention private homes.

So far the film has shot at Salon Soma, The Boardroom, Belmont Athletic Club, Acapulco Inn, New York's Upper Crust Pizza, Cardio Beat Gym and three different homes.

Broad Range Casts Second Film for Runaway

Jan 05 - Los Angeles, CA. Debra McCarthy of BROADRANGE CASTING signs on to second Runaway Productions film, THE WEDDING VIDEO as casting director. Although the film was pre-cast by director/producers Wade/Palmer with previous talent they've worked with, Christine Blackburn, Elina Madison, Alan Waserman, Josh Adamson, Sophia Trone, Tommy Giaviocchini and Jeff Doba, the remaining casting of a few lead roles and over forty other speaking parts was assigned to McCarthy.

We have a great relationship with Debra and trust her judgement in who she brings to the session, says Palmer. McCarthy has also served at Casting Director and production coordinator on the companies first film, http://runawayproductions.tv currently in distribution. Debra was a key to our first film, bringing us MADISON, ADAMSON and DOBA.

Debra's daughter, Ashley McCarthy also has a small role in THE WEDDING VIDEO and her son, Sean Patrick will make his acting debut in the pic as well.

THE WEDDING VIDEO Second Script to be Produced by Palmer / Wade Team

Jan 06 - Long Beach, CA. Linda Palmer, producer/founder of Runaway Productions has optioned the companies fifth script in the past fourteen months. This script, THE WEDDING VIDEO, penned by Chris Pentzell, was discovered through Ink Tip's quarterly magazine. I generally don't request scripts, says Palmer because we get so many submissions from writer sites, but I saw the log line and thought it was very clever.

Initially I talked to the writer, Chris Pentzell and let him know we were too busy this year to produce another picture. I let him know if he didn't sell it by Jan 07, I'd still be interested, explained Palmer. Then my directing partner, Todd Wade, and I had a conversation about doing another ultra low budget project sometime this year. After a brief description, he agreed THE WEDDING VIDEO sounded like the right fit. We met with Chris, showed him our previous projects, LOOK @ ME and INTERVIEWING NORMAN and he agreed to have us produce and direct the project.

The only reason we were able to take on this script is the unique style of this film, states Palmer. It's a series of vignettes that don't have any continuity and stand alone. It's very much like producing twenty commercials. We expect to film approximately 25 days total over a six month period which allows us to produce our upcoming picture, OCTOBER 30TH for Echelon Entertainment, explains the producer.

Chris Pentzell is also a co-producer and plays the brides brother, Kevin. He is repped by Erica Zonder of Messina / Baker.

Runaway Adds Creative Partner Darren Wilsey

Dec 05 - Los Angeles, CA. Linda Palmer, founder/producer of Runaway Productions announced the addition of Darren Wilsey as a creative partner to the company.

Darren started working with us on our previous film, LOOK @ ME and has become a great friend and business resource. His teaming with us as a creative partner is a tremendous step for everyone. Darren brings with him an extensive background in composing, licensing and also has an extensive library of work, says Palmer. Both of our companies complement each other as does our personality and work ethics. We look forward to making a lot of films together, exclaims Palmer.

Wilsey is also an associate producer on two of the companies current projects, THE WEDDING VIDEO , now filming and LAST CALL AT MURRAY'S, scheduled for a June start.

Flute Doc Finds Voice with Singer/Songwriter Host RONNA JONES

2005, Los Angeles, CA. Director/producer Linda Palmer just attached singer/songwriter RONNA JONES as host of their now "untitled Flute Documentary". Ronna is a perfect fit for the project with her knowledge of music and her inate interviewing skills, says Palmer. She has a warmth and friendliness that elicits trust from her subjects and as result ends up providing very emotional, touching interviews.

Ronna's song, GHOST, recently appeared in Runaway Productions first feature, LOOK@ME , now in distribution with IFM WORLD RELEASING.

Runaway Adds Creative Partner Christina Gordon

Tarina Reed Set to Shoot Flute Doc and La Creparie Commercial for Runaway Prod's

Oct 05 - Los Angeles, CA. Runaway Production producer/director, Linda Palmer, has hired Tarina Reed to helm a documentary about friend and musician/producer Karen Smith and a local commercial for La Creperie Cafe in Long Beach.

Tarina specializes in the interview style format, explains Palmer, and she's also very easy going and low key, which works well with our team. We have a small crew for the documentary and all our personalities really compliment one another. Although the doc looks like an all girl affair, it's actually being edited by Alan Waserman, and creative partner Todd Wade has been incredible loaning us production equipment, says Palmer.

The trio of Palmer/Wade/Reed are producing the local spot for La Creperie Cafe.

Palmer / Smith Unite to Create Flute Documentary

July 05 - Los Angeles, CA. Long time friends, Karen Smith and Linda Palmer of Nushu Entertainment, a division of Runaway Productions, have collaborated on a documentary of Smith's year long journey developing, creating, attaching and producing a Christmas CD of orignial arrangments of old favorites by some of Los Angeles's premier flautists.

Smith has significant relationships in the music industry that led to her creation of this band and cd. It happened very quickly and has had phenomal response from the flute community, noted Palmer who attended a flute convention with Smith. Karen is well known and respected and above all else has an great attitude! She's also more persistant than me if that's possible, laughs Palmer.

The group call themselves RESONANCE. It includes: Rik Noyce, Julie Long, Shannon Christianson, Norda Mullen, Michelle Matsumune, Karen Smith with special guest, Dave Shostac. The CD, titled FLUTE TOOTIN' YULE was produced by Todd Hayen, Scott McRae, Michael Aarold and Smith.

Echelon Entertainment Takes Interest in OCTOBER 30TH

Nov 05 - Los Angeles, CA. Gloria Morrison of Echelon Entertainment and Linda Palmer of Runaway Productions have negotiated a production/distribution deal for OCTOBER 30TH, the second Patrick Hludzenski script optioned by Palmer.

Echelon Entertainment is stepping up their acquisitions with ten projects they plan to produce and distribute. All are headed toward a theatrical release. OCTOBER 30TH is the first project in the slate. As of now, Echelon is negotiating with several film commissions in a few film friendly states for the entire slate. We're hoping to release OCTOBER 30TH halloween weekend, states Morrison.

The story centers on three guys headed back to NYC from a business trip when they hear that fateful Orson Welles radio address of War of the Worlds. Their radio cuts out and fearing for their life they steal supplies, pick up a stranger and get in a bad car accident that leaves them seriously hurt. Their fear and paranoia get the best of them and they turn on each other, only to discover at the end, something far worse than their imaginations was really after them.

Early this year, Runaway Productions purchased and produced Hludzenski's LOOK @ ME, currently in distribution with IFM World Releasing.

Palmer Pens REGISTRATION

Jan 05 - Long Beach, CA. Writer/Producer, Linda Palmer, founder of Runaway Productions and Nushu Entertainment has penned, REGISTRATION, based on events in her mothers life.

Palmer's mom, Sharon Hart, has done voter registration for over fifteen years and is well known for breaking stores. In other words she goes to stores that don't allow petitioning and works there until they call the police. Because she is well versed in her first ammendment rights, most officers won't arrest her and the store has to allow petitioners to come back afterward, explains Palmer. She's a very smart, patient woman and I'm proud that she's my mom and even more proud she's a grandma to my daughter Brooklyn, says Palmer. There are things worth fighting for and our first ammendment rights are one of them.

The story centers on one grandma who incites those around her to make a difference as she stands up against religious zealots, corporate bullying and police intimidation to protect our rights one voter at a time. Palmer is set to direct the piece with partner, Todd Wade producing.

This is the first film to be produced under the Nushu Entertainment banner. Nushu was created to produce stories that embody the female spirit, explains Palmer. My writing partner, Priscilla Burnett and myself have two other screenplays set to be produced through the same company, BON VOYAGE and KING KAMAHEBABY. Palmer is currently directing/producing an "Untitled Flute Documentary" about long time friend and fellow music producer, Karen Smith's band RESONANCE and their first cd, FLUTE TOOTIN' YULE.

Palmer discovered Nushu while reading National Geographic. It's a secret ancient chinese language developed for women by women. It was specifically made for friends, daughters and sisters who were married off, often never to be seen again. The women would communicate via this secret language in diaries, letters, artwork and tapestries. There is only one woman left who can decode the language and she's 95. A museum has been opened to preserve the works the language is written on. It seemed the perfect moniker for a writer/directors vision of female driven art, says Palmer. Someday I look forward to visiting and seeing this tremendous find in the Hunan province (the only place this language has been found) with my daughter, Brooklyn.

Producer/Director Team, PALMER/WADE, Get Notice at AFM

Nov 05 - Santa Monica, CA. IFM WORLD RELEASING offers LOOK @ ME at the American Film Market taking place in Santa Monica, California. LOOK @ ME marks the second film by director Todd Wade and the first film released out of Runaway Productions.

Writer Mark McQuown tapped to pen Linda Palmer's BLOODLINE

June 05 - Los Angeles, CA. Linda Palmer of Runaway Productions initially met writer Mark McQuown while searching for material to produce. After reading several of his screenplays and discussing the option of SANJAY, a theatrical play he penned, Palmer asked McQuown to join their production team of LOOK @ ME in February as Production Manager. Mark has extensive background in that field says Palmer. Most writers have other things that they are fantastic at, and Mark's is design.

The two writers developed a closer relationship that led to Palmer requesting McQuown to pen a treatment she developed, BLOODLINE. It marks the first attempt by McQuown to write someone elses material but he says the idea is so clear and the treatment is a great blueprint to where the story goes. He's very excited by the opportunity and both writers intend on producing as well.

BILL SHAKESPEARE Ramps Up Runaway Prod's Goals

2005 - Los Angeles, CA. BILL SHAKESPEARE, a smart script penned by Deon C. vanRooyen, finds its way to Runaway Productions. Palmer found Deon's script on the MY ENTERTAINMENT WORLD website and shortly after optioned the material. The PULP FICTION/SNATCH like pic is set for a late 2006 start date.

This is a real change for Runaway, says Palmer. We normally focus on low budget, minimal location, ensemble projects. This definitely is a step up for us but it's the kind of story we love. Deon is an amazing writer and his material is very stylized, states Palmer. We look forward to working with him a lot in the future.

IFM World Releasing Acquires Rights to LOOK@ME

Feb 05 - Los Angeles, CA. Tony Ginnane of IFM WORLD RELEASING and Todd Wade of Runaway Productions just negotiated distribution for the Palmer/Wade picture LOOK @ ME. Wade currently has another film, THE MAILMAN, in distribution with IFM.

It's always positive to have this much excitement behind a project in the beginning, says Palmer. The low budget thriller, is set to begin a five week production in March. With the distribution agreement and the American Jobs Creation Act, it's been a lot easier to raise funding for the projects from private investors.

Wade discovered information regarding the revolutionary act, designed to keep film production in the United States, during his trip to Sundance. Corky Kessler, an attorney well versed in the ACT and a popular public speaker on the topic, introduced the information at a Seminar Wade attended.

This project is on a fast track per Palmer. We have all the elements to make this happen now. Our other projects have elements that are delaying them. This is a great first project for us and we have a great working relationship with the writer as well. Palmer and Wade are set to produce/direct. Production begins in March.

LAST CALL AT MURRAY'S has Debut on Stage

17 Rep Firms Sign on to Sell Runaway Commercials

Commercial Division Launches New Sales Strategy at 2005 CES

Jan 05 - Las Vegas, NV. Runaway Productions is set to announce their new sales strategy at CES. The companies creative partners, Palmer/Wade are set to attend the industries top trade show with research analyist, Paul Faulstich.

We intend to interview and hire rep firms to handle our product, states Palmer. Our goal is to find the right partners in rep firms that are actively involved in their customers businesses in help market and shape them. As of the show, the following firms are already repping the spots.

The company started selling generic commercials for mobile electronics that are shot on film but can be modified by adding graphics and voice over to customize them to particular dealers. It's a donut style spot states Palmer. The advantage is smaller retailers now have the ability to own a spot that is as professional as a big box spot produced by big ad agencies for the cost of cable. We sell them around the country in markets that don' t cross. There are two mobile electronics :30 spots available that can ve viewed at the Runaway Productions site.

OCTOBER 30TH Lands at Runaway Productions

2004 - Los Angeles, CA. Producer/Founder, Linda Palmer, of Runaway Productions announced the option of writer, Patrick Hludzenski's screenplay, OCTOBER 30TH. Palmer is attached to produce with Todd Wade directing. The screenplay focuses on three guys returning to NYC from a business trip when they hear part of Orson Welles infamous radio play of War of the Worlds on October 30th, 1938. Once they lose reception, they loot a store, pick up another guy on the run and end up in a horrific car wreck. Badly injured, they try and survive until the aliens leave, but their fear and paranoia turn them against one another. In the end, something far worse than their imagination is really after them.

We hope to produce this picture after LAST CALL AT MURRAY'S, states Palmer.

LAST CALL AT MURRAY'S Finds a Home at Runaway Productions

Nov 2004 - Los Angeles, CA. Writer/Producer Linda Palmer announced the acquisition of LAST CALL AT MURRAY'S penned by scribes, Brian Beatty and Betsy Morris. (pictured L to R, Betsy Morris, Linda Palmer, Todd Wade, John Murray, Brian Beatty)

The focus of the production company is to aquire lower budget films thereby allowing them to maintain creative control over the projects, states Palmer. This script is very similar to BIG CHILL and ANNIVERSARY PARTY.

It's story centers around bar owner, MURRAY, who decides to retire rather than giving in to smoking ordinances imposed on his venue and on the eve of his last night in business a blizzard strands 13 wacky people in the place. It's a great ensemble piece that is absolutely hysterical seventy minutes in and then becomes very poignant. People who come together don't leave together, a baby's born and someone dies. It has moments that will be remembered for a long time, states Palmer. We're very happy that writers, Beatty and Morris have trusted us with their project.

Runaway Adds Creative Partner Todd Wade

Sept 04 - Los Angeles, CA. Runaway Productions announced the addition of producer/director Todd Wade as one of their creative partners. Company founder, Palmer began working with Wade's rental company, BUNDLE UP RENTALS, in 1997. Since then, the pair have collaborated on a variety of projects.

Wade brings to the production house tremendous experience in producing, directing, editing, budgeting as well as rental equipment. "We now have the ability to take a project from development to distribution for a lot less than most teams." states Palmer.

Palmer heads up development, acquisitions and is their primary location expert. Wade's responsibilities lie primarily in directing and editing, although both partners strong producing skills are a plus. Palmer tends to be a creative producer and Wade a technical producer. Both partners strengths make a strong producer/director team.

Wade recently wrote, directed and produced THE APPOINTMENT which he self distributes. He also produced INTERVIEWING NORMAN which premiered at THE NEWPORT BEACH FILM FESTIVAL and THE MAILMAN which is currently in distribution with IFM WORLD RELEASING.

Todd is set to direct the companies recent acquisition, LAST CALL AT MURRAY'S with Palmer producing.
